The Volkswagen logo is one of the most reputable and known monograms which uses the company's initials "V" and "w" and
are placed over one another so then both letters intertwine smoothly with one another. The blue colour background symbolises excellence, reliability and class - and three of the brands hallmarks. Meanwhile the white represents nobility, purity and charm. Throughout time the design has changed but the ideas behind the logo have always stayed the same.
The manufacturing of the Volkswagen product logo has evolved over a number of years, a black VW inscription appeared with a black circle, until 1967, when the emblem received a new colour scheme. Light blue replaced the black letters to create a more friendly global image. Eleven years after this, additional changes such as creating an inversion of the letters VW became white and were placed in a light blue background.
In the 1990s, the blue colour became deeper, while the latest update, in 2015, saw the logo change to 3D shading with a silver appearance to the lettering. The monogram has stayed the same since the 1930s.
